What is Google Analytics?

Google Analytics is a website analytics platform that allows businesses to gain a deeper understanding of how users interact with their website and apps. With Google Analytics, you not only are able to see how many people visited each page on your site, but where they came from (i.e. what marketing channel or website), what they did (i.e. made a purchase or registered for a webinar), how long they were on your site, and if this was their first visit to your site or not. Marketers can then segment these people into different cohorts and audiences and then push those audiences to platforms like Google Ads in order to show them different messaging in advertisements. Google Analytics has a free version that is powerful enough for most small and medium size businesses, but the paid version (Google Analytics 360) has some enterprise-level features for larger organizations.
